Welcome to my world of Amateur Radio, My name is Bharathi Prasad, known by my callsign VU2RBI. With a passion that spans over three decades, I've devoted myself to diverse facets of this realm, from leading DX-peditions to coordinating essential disaster relief communications. As a founding member of the National Institute of Amateur Radio (NIAR) since its inception in 1985, my commitment has centered on nurturing its growth and noble vision. Throughout my journey, pivotal moments like the 1999 Orissa cyclone, the 2001 Gujarat earthquake, and the 2004 Tsunami in Andaman & Nicobar Islands have underscored the critical role of amateur radio in crisis communication. Notably, during the 2004 Andamans DX-pedition, my team swiftly transitioned operations into an emergency communication service, garnering global attention, notably through CNN International's documentary highlighting the indispensable role of amateur radio in emergencies. My efforts extend across India, establishing and fostering numerous club stations, promoting knowledge sharing and community engagement among enthusiasts.
